Alloycars has taken the initiative to re-create this race legend using 3-D scan data as well as over 800 drawings and hundreds of photos taken from each component of the original dismantled car.
Each of those components was re-cast and re-created. These intricate components (most hidden under the body) make it impossible for even a seasoned
expert to tell it apart from an original one.
Alloycars is the only firm dedicated to re-create race car legends in the most accurate way possible.
ALLOYCARS SPYDER®
The results of four years exstensive development:

The development of this project has simple roots. We started by producing a polished aluminum version from a digitized scan of car number 90. After a 3D digitizing process of all parts we had everything necessary to produce the ideal/perfect re-creation of this iconic race car.

After approximately four months of tedious, labor intensive, manual corrections to the scan data it was ready to be converted to a language that a modern CNC mill could read.  Over the span of four months over 30 molds/bucks were cut and readied to begin production.
At about the same time the chassis scan were translated into CAD language which yielded a jig that would later produce the  High Rail chassis.  Six months after the initial pieces were shaped over the buck, we had enough sections to start assembling/welding the one unit body.

Once the major sections of the body were grafted together, they were aligned on a jig to ensure symmetry and attached to the chassis which was now waiting on a rotisserie. After we had something that simulated a car, we began producing the small bits that completed the car. All of the first parts were one offs interpreted from the drawings and made by hand to fit. Every piece was fitted, verified and digitized for easy re-production.
The process above has an estimated time investment of over 8,000 man hours.
